Adriana Jurado

Adriana is a master’s student in Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh on the Community, Organization, and Social Action track. She holds a bachelor of arts from Chatham University in Political Science with minors in History and Philosophy, as well as completed courses towards an associate's degree at Delgado Community College in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her primary research interests are gender, sexuality, gerontology, and the intersections therewithin. Her work in the community has included time as the AgeWell intern at the Jewish Community Center wherein she has become emersed in the aging population's needs and concerns. As an undergraduate, she wrote a policy for the Wilkins Township updating their sexual harassment policy as well as the President of the College Democrats at Chatham University where she published “The Campus Justice Demands.”  Motivated by social justice, she hopes to continue working in the community space to support missions of equity.
