Hosted by the Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies Program at the University of Pittsburgh

In conjunction with the Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences, Jewish Studies Program, Department of Religious Studies, Department of Sociology, Humanities Center. This day-long conference will draw together a multidisciplinary group of scholars, healthcare practitioners, and activists to interrogate the political, legal, social, and scientific dimensions of the struggle for reproductive rights in the United States. We intend to start conversations that transcend fields and methodologies, and to forge connections between activists, researchers, and providers who work on reproductive justice from a variety of angles and perspectives.

9:10-10:25: Panel on Politics, Law and Action

10:25-11:25: Roundtable Discussions on: Activism and Reproductive Justice, Medical Perspectives on Rights and Contraceptives, and Current Topics in Abortion Rights and Access

11:30-12:45: American Religion and Reproductive Rights

12:45-2:05: Lunch and Panel Presentation: Implications of Targeted Regulation of Abortion Providers (preregistration required for lunch: contact by March 6. Spaces are limited.)

2:10-3:30: Parenthood, the State, and Reproductive Rights

All events (except lunch/lunchtime panel) are free and open to the public!
