Deadline to Apply for the Conference on Reproductive Health, Rights, Access, and Action

November 1, 2014 (All day)

Call For Papers: Conference on Reproductive Health, Rights, Access, and Action

The Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies program invites University of Pittsburgh faculty and graduate students to submit proposals on the topic of Reproductive Health, Rights, Access, and Action for participation in an interdisciplinary mini-conference to take place at the University of Pittsburgh on Friday March 20, 2015. This day-long conference will draw together a diverse group of scholars and activists to interrogate the political, legal, social, health, and scientific dimensions of the struggles for reproductive rights in the US and globally. In doing so, we hope to facilitate engaging and fruitful connections between academics and organizers who work on issues of reproductive rights, healthcare, and access from a wide variety of angles and perspectives.

Scholars of all levels are invited to submit a 250-word abstract and one paragraph biographical statement to Rachel V. Kutz-Flamenbaum, Department of Sociology, rflamenb@pitt.edu and Rachel Kranson, Department of Religious Studies, kranson@pitt.edu by November 1, 2014. Submissions are being solicited for panel presentations as well as round-table conversations. Please specify your preferences for participation. We will notify participants of their acceptance by January 15, 2015.
