Kathleen George, Professor of Theatre Arts and author of mystery novels set in Pittsburgh, will talk about how she became a mystery writer, her books, and answer your questions.

This event is open to faculty, staff, post-docs, and students. Please invite your colleagues to join you. The University Club is at 123 University Place, near Fifth Avenue.

Kathleen George lives in Pittsburgh where she is a professor of theatre at the University of Pittsburgh. Her 2009 novel, The Odds, was nominated for an Edgar® award for best novel of the year by the Mystery Writers of America. She is also the author of the acclaimed novels, Taken, Fallen, Afterimage, and the newest, Hideout.  Her first long fiction publication was the short story collection, The Man in the Buick, though she had published scholarly theatrical books and articles and many short stories before that. She came back to the short story genre as editor of Pittsburgh Noir, 2011, a collection of short fiction set in Pittsburgh, to which she was also a contributor.  Her next novel, Simple, comes out in August, 2012.
