Why Support Women’s Studies?

Gifts to the Women’s Studies Program have a direct impact on the daily lives of students and are applied in a variety of ways, such as:

• Lectures and Conferences: The Women’s Studies Program regularly sponsors lectures and conferences on topics related to new scholarship on women and gender.  Throughout the academic year, faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates present their work-in-progress at informal brown bag lecture sessions.
• Research Awards: With the co-sponsorship of many units within the University, the Program awards annual student  paper prizes for the best undergraduate and graduate student research papers on women and gender.  The Program also offers funds for students and faculty to pursue gender related research projects.
